The Center for Spine and Orthopedics (CSO) is pleased to welcome our new spine surgeon, Dr. Jacob (Jake) Rumley. Dr. Rumley will join CSO’s Spine Team on July 13th. He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and fellowship-trained in spine surgery. He specializes in total disc replacement, degenerative disc surgery, disc arthroplasty, laminectomy, microdiscectomy, spine injury, deformity, and neck surgery, among other surgical procedures

Dr. Rumley earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated Magnum Cum Laud. He then completed an orthopedic surgery internship and residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, WA, where he was academic chief resident. He went on to serve as Chief of Orthopedics, Podiatry, and Brace Shop at Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning, GA, for four years. From 2019-2020, he completed an AO Spine Fellowship at Augusta University in Augusta, GA. During that year, he was also an orthopedic surgery instructor at the Augusta University Medical Center. Dr. Rumley is a fellow of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Dr. Rumley’s military service includes deployment with the 31st CSH Camp in Kuwait. He also provided team coverage as an orthopedic surgeon for the 3rd Ranger Battalion and the Ranger Training Battalion. While in the U.S. Army, he earned the Meritorious Service Medal and three Army Commendation Medals.

Originally from Bellvue, CO, Dr. Rumley earned a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. He is thrilled to be back in Colorado! Dr. Rumley enjoys many outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, and hunting. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, woodworking, and cooking.
