International spine fellow Dr. Sharif Ahmed Jonayed studied the latest techniques in spinal surgery under CSO founder, Dr. Michael Janssen, during a month-long fellowship in September at the Center for Spine and Orthopedics. As a spine surgeon and assistant professor at The National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Dr. Jonayed has a special interest in degenerative spine disease and deformity. “As a spine surgeon in a developing country, we are not always privileged to get in touch with the latest advances in spinal surgery,” said Dr.Jonayed. “This fellowship opened the door for me to become acquainted with the zenith of advancement, and I am very grateful for this tremendous training opportunity.” On September 28th, Dr.Jonayed returned to Bangladesh, where he will put his new skills into practice.
